Changes to the application process
2025 

When the College came into being in 2017 the option to be Grandfathered in was set up to help build the College and encourage mental health practitioners to be licensed under the Licensed Counselling Therapy Act. Once the option to Grandfather-in was closed another route was introduced to bridge the gap for counsellors with previous experience to join with fewer supervision hours but still going through our application process ensuring we are properly vetting our applicants in our ongoing mission to protect the public.

Since that time, nearly eight years, the College has grown significantly.

What this means: 

All applicants, regardless of past experience, will be required to complete 50 hrs of supervision with a CCTNB approved supervisor.
